Reading

Picture
Third grade is considered a benchmark year. It is the last year a child will receive instruction on how to read. Research shows that if a child is behind in reading by the end of third grade, then it is unlikely that they will catch up. In addition, children who are below grade level are more likely to drop out of high school. That is why your child's reading success this school year is incredibly important.

Bridging home and school together will make for a very successful school year!

SUPER easy to do! Click on the picture and have headphones ready!
Available on apple or androids (as well as computers).
Lexia is a reading program that identifies areas of weakness, and it provides interactive practice. Once a child completes a level, the program will take them to the next! Level 15 is about 4th grade level.

AR Book Finder

Click icon or click this http://www.arbookfind.com/

Download the BookScanner from the App store. It is the quickest way to find out if a book is in your child's ZPD.

ZPD is the range your child should be reading. This can be found from your child's STAR reading test.
If your child reads a book outside of that range, then their reading comprehension won't improve. So, we want to build confidence!
